Simo Sakari Aaltonen This was my first acquaintance with the musical talents of Pierre Estève and Stéphane Picq, in the late 1990s, and I still never tire of listening to this remarkably full and varied feast, from the inspiring, iconic “Sunriders” and the serene “Awakening” to the timeless beauty of “Muria”, the exuberant Polynesian party music (as I like to think of it) of “Para Nua”, and the crystalline fresh air of “Spitzberg”. Make sure not to miss the hidden bonus at the end of “La Lune”! Favorite track: Muria.

about

In collaboration with Stéphane Picq

The main concept behind this double album was to imagine what would have been the music of a pre-ancient age Atlantean civilization - a culture from which all of the others would have originated after the Fall of Atlantis and the dispersion of its people. A great diversity of traditional instruments from all around the world were used together, as well as with synthesizers, electronic instruments and vocals.

Soundtrack for the 1997 video game Atlantis - The Lost Tales

A limited double CD edition is still available. It features a CD-ROM track with an interactive and non-linear travel journal in the Atlantean world as seen by me and Stéphane Picq, made from artworks and illustrations for Atlantis : The Lost Tales, and adding a complementary view over our music and thematics from the game.
